Nita Satterfield - Nita's first
custom framed picture was a college graduation gift. Fascinated by the transformation the
framing brought to the artwork, she looked at it and thought, "Wow, I wish I could do
that!"
That thought was ever-present over the next 20 years as she accumulated
working experience, business expertise and education. When, finally, the confidence and
resources came together, she enrolled in The Southern Framing School in Atlanta and
"I wish I could" became "I know I can!" With immeasurable help from
family and friends, a lot of work, and a decent share of luck and continued blessings,
Albany Frameworks became a reality in 1992.
Today, what Nita started has flourished to become one of the leading frame
stores in the region.
Julie Brim - Julie has been doing
custom framing for twenty years. Holding a degree in art, framing is a natural
fit for her artistic talents. Being extremely creative, Julie is a design specialist
who can do hand-cut mats and French lines.
Helen Davidson -
With over 22 years in the custom framing industry, Helen is an artist in her own
right. She has a very skilled eye for design and an excellent sense of color and
proportion.
Elizabeth Gray - In
her early college days, Elizabeth walked in to Albany Frameworks and informed owner, Nita
Satterfield, that she was coming to work for her. By the end of the day, and after
numerous people came in specifically requesting Elizabeth, she did indeed have a job at
Albany Frameworks! A very talented young artist who is a Junior at Valdosta State
University, Elizabeth brings her vast talents to Albany Frameworks on weekends and
holidays and dreams of owning her own frame shop some day.
Liza Pickett - Liza is a former
customer who needed some adult interaction occasionally while raising small
children. Having grown up around the framing industry, Liza feels right at home
(minus the kids) when she is working. She greatly enjoys the art of framing, the
people and the industry.
